The Curriculum supports 72 courses of which 40 are compulsory core courses, 27 are elective compulsory courses and 5 are optional General Education courses. Also, in the last (10th semester) students compulsorily prepare a Diploma Thesis, while they can optionally choose to carry out an Internship in Industry.
In order to obtain his/her degree, the student must successfully attend 54 courses and prepare a Diploma Thesis.
Key features of the Program of Study:
- All courses correspond to 5 ECTS.
- 10th semester only Thesis (30 ECTS).
- Core courses are offered up to and including the 7th semester.
- Total number of degree courses 54.
- Each full semester corresponds to 30 ECTS leading to a degree of 300 ECTS.
- Elective courses are open to all students to choose from.
- There are also optional MELH courses that do not participate in the formation of the grade, but enrich the general knowledge of students.
Program Elements / Rules:
- The curriculum is 5-year.
- In each semester the student can declare as many as the courses of the current semester (n) and a maximum of 3 additional courses. That is, n+3.
- Of these courses, the first should be supplemented by priority from the courses of previous years (and corresponding semester) owed by the student.
- Courses classified as optional do not participate in the degree grade, nor in the total ECTS but should appear separately in the analytical and the Diploma Supplement as courses attended and passed, and / or a separate certificate for them must be issued by the system.
- Apart from Optional, all courses up to and including the 5th semester are Compulsory.
- In the 6th semester the first five (5) courses are Compulsory (C) and the student should choose one (1) of the remaining three (3) Elective Compulsory (CR).
- In the 7th semester the same applies, i.e. the first five (5) courses are Compulsory (C) and the student should choose one (1) of the remaining three (3) Elective Compulsory (CR).
- In the 8th and 9th semester all courses are elective. The student can choose in each semester any six (6) courses from the offered.
- Please note that there are no directions. Students choose any elective course they want without choosing a direction. In other words, they have the freedom to shape the specialization of their studies according to their inclinations and desires.
- However, for the selection of elective courses, there is provision to achieve as balanced a distribution of students as possible between courses in order to make the best use of the resources (human and material) of the Department.
- In the 10th semester the Diploma Thesis is Compulsory for all.
