The Laboratory serves research and educational activities in the fields of Information Systems and Network Security, as well as Data Network Technology and Systems. These subjects are at the heart of the educational and research activity of the Sector of “Telecommunications and Networks” of the Department, while at the same time they are subjects in the Postgraduate Programs in “Telecommunications and Computer Networks” and “Applied Informatics” operating in the Department of Computer , Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering. Specifically, the main scientific and research fields included in the activities of the Laboratory, indicatively and not exclusively, are:

  • Network and Information Systems Security.
  • Applications of computational intelligence and data mining in telecommunication and security problems.
  • Data Network Systems.
  • Sensor networks (WSN) and telematics applications. Internet of Things.
  • Technologies of synchronous and asynchronous education.
